At Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris, Crush’s Coaster makes Finding Nemo the central focus. Crush’s Coasterįinding Nemo is my favorite Pixar movie, and while I adore The Seas with Nemo & Friends in EPCOT the real star of that attraction is the aquarium. Queen of Hearts hedge display in Alice’s Curious Labyrinth at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris. And because it’s a walk through attraction there is hardly ever a significant wait. Plus, while I was not traveling with any children, kids seemed to really love this area to blow off some steam and play with the fountains. Put me in the setting of a classic tale and make me feel fully immersed! I loved every inch of it. Overall, Alice’s Curious Labyrinth is the embodiment of Disney to me. The sights of Fantasyland from the Queen’s castle are divine and well worth your time. The Queen’s castle is at the center of the maze and you can climb to the top if you wish. The second part of the maze is a bit tougher, and you will encounter the Queen of Hearts, but you are greatly rewarded for your bravery. Eventually you will find your way to the Caterpillar, the Dodo Bird, and some card soldiers painting white roses red. There is also a massive, gorgeous, and kind of peculiar Cheshire Cat face made from colorful flowers and other plant life near the attraction, and as you make your way through the maze you get a great view of this sight. Then you’ll make your way through the maze, seeing doors of various sizes, signs with directions pointing you in opposite ways, and fountains that jump over your head. At the beginning you enter through the White Rabbit’s hole into this wonderful world. Disneyland Paris may be small, but it is mighty, and there are some attractions I wish we had in the U.S.! Alice’s Curious LabyrinthĪlice’s Curious Labyrinth is a walk through maze in Disneyland Park where you can encounter characters from the famous story in a whimsical setting where nothing is quite as it seems. These theme parks definitely have some similarities, but of course experiencing the differences is a highlight. We headed back to our little hotel and slept soundly after a long day of walking and imagination. Most of my time spent at Disney theme parks is in Walt Disney World, but I am lucky enough to have also recently visited Disneyland Resort in California and Disneyland Paris in France. Tons and tons of sparkle and color and light that never seemed to end, with music that lifts your heart in the way only Disney can manage. Becasue of Bastille Day, they were launching even more fireworks than usual, and I must say that those were probably the most spectacular fireworks I have ever seen. I like tapestries… they’re fabric.Īs night fell, we rested our tired feet and saved a spot for viewing the fireworks show. They also had a spectacular castle, and I was particularly drawn to the Sleeping Beauty tapestries inside. I love Alice, and the walk-through maze was something entirely different than anything at the American parks. One unique attraction at this park was Alice’s Labyrinth, a giant hedge maze with Alice characters scattered throughout. Bleh.ĭon’t get me wrong, though – it was a magical day. As with the rest of Europe, there were people smoking all over the place. The overall park cleanliness was surprisingly low for typical Disney standards better than your average Six Flags but nowhere near the shine expected from a Disney park. Since the original Disneyland in Anaheim claims both my heart and my loyalties, this was certainly a step down. We happened to be there on Bastille Day, however, so even though Disneyland Paris is a typically quiet park, it was certainly bustling for our visit. It seems clear that most tourists prefer the historic landmarks of Paris to a translated version of an American pastime. Since I am a self-proclaimed Disneyland lover (i have recently begun to ponder whether Disneyland can be considered my second religion), and my family both shares and condones this enthusiasm, we had to stop by Euro Disney on our trip.Ī bit less than an hour outside Paris itself, Euro Disney was a rather sidelined attraction.
